2001/07/12　「米国へ向かう機内にて」

I am writing this on board to NY and just woke up few minutes ago.

I couldn’t sleep last night because of alegey by cat hairs. Before I sleep, I am not fine because of lack of sleep and have bad feeling on my stomach. Now I got 5 hours sleep since I sat down on this seat on board and feeling much better.

When I start feeling better, I started thinking about living in NY and what I have to do when I arrived at NY. First of all I have to pick up reserved rental car at air port and go to hotel room which I have a reservation for 10 nights and check in. It will be 3 or 4 o’clock when I finished all above and will decide whether I shall go to Manhattan to open bank account or take a rest. In any case I have to go to Manhattan for three reasons. First of all to open bank account as I said above, secondary to submit SSN applications and thirdly to say hello to U.S. office member. I will start living and working at NY for 1 year approximately and I can’t guess what I am going to learn from this experience. But I am sure to gain something new and it will help me for my future career.

However in order to make this experience more beneficial, I have to be flat and face everything without any bias.


My objective for next 1 year
1. Do everything I can for work and not compromise for product.
2. Talk to CAI as much as possible to understand American company and CAI
3. Study Marketing
4. Pick up one business idea per day
5. Write down my corporate philosophy
6. Write diary everyday

『その当時を振り返り』

新しいことを始めるのはいつでも楽しいものだが、このときもそんなわくわく感を胸に秘め、機内での時間を過ごしていたんだろう。

同時に異国の地での新生活の始まりであるため、何もかもを自分で段取りよく進めて行かなければならないため生活環境を整えるためのタスクとこれから一年間を有意義にすべくどう過ごすか寝不足の中でぼんやり考えていたんだろう。

これにて海外赴任の第一章である欧州赴任が終わり、これから第二章である米国研修の日々が始まるのだが、その日々は社会人になってから最大の苦難だったと思う。 窓口の方はアサインされていたが先に書いた通り研修内容など何も事前調整がされたおらず、到着してから3ヶ月仕事がないという厳しい状況になったのである。 そんな中で自己紹介資料を作り、営業部長などのところに顔を出しては同行出来る仕事はないか聞いて回る日々を過ごす。 この経験からかその後外資系企業にて仕事をすることになるのだが、いい意味でも悪い意味でもこのときの苦い経験が後を引く事になる。
